The March hike on Bear River Preserve includes hiking up Bald Rock mountain, views of the Bear River, and panoramic vistas of the area. This is a newly created trail that is not yet open to the public.
The total hike will be approximately 4 miles and is a moderate to strenuous hike with uphill hiking and some rough terrain. The hike will be approximately 3.5 hours long with plenty of photo opportunities and good views. The trail is currently not open to the public and hiking is only allowed during our docent lead tours.
Participants must sign a release of liability upon arrival. Please obey all parking signage and/or attendants. We strongly recommend you wear sturdy hiking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring plenty water and a brown bag lunch or snacks to enjoy along the way. The safety of the hikers is very important to us. Don't forget your camera! Sorry, dogs are not allowed on our hikes.
These are wilderness hikes in a natural setting, so there are no restrooms, benches, or water available. Please plan ahead and bring what you'll need. Due to the length of the hike, these hikes are not advised for children under 10 years of age..
This is a free event, however a $10 donation is suggested. If you would like to make a donation using your credit card please click here and indicate in the notes field which hike you are donating for. Or, we always gladly accept cash or check donations at the event.
